Baseball:
Two of the SGV’s best baseball programs met up Saturday for a doubleheader.
Rancho Cucamonga defeated San Dimas, 8-3, in game one.
And the Saints would snap the Cougars eight-game win streak in game two, defeating RCHS, 11-2.
Game One:
Rancho Cucamonga got two runs apiece in the first three innings and cruised to an 8-3 victory.
Jacob Billings got the win, going six innings and allowing two runs on six hits.
Billings didn’t walk anyone and he struck out three San Dimas batters.
Ryder Young had an RBI single and Matt Rice doubled.
Tyler Pardus walked, singled and scored twice for the Saints.
Matt DesMarets was stuck with the loss after allowing six runs (four earned) on four hits.
DesMarets walked five and struck out two RCHS batters in his 2 1/3 inning outing.
Aaron Whobrey went 3-for-4, with two runs and Wilson Dunn singled twice and scored two runs.
Bradyn France had an RBI single and two runs scored and Jacob McCombs hit a 2-run home run.
Jake Brown walked and scored and Ryan Farr contributed a two-run double.
Game 2 Story:
San Dimas jumped on Rancho Cucamonga for two first-inning runs and five more in the second to take a commanding 7-0 lead.
SDHS would go onto defeat the Cougars, 11-2.
Matt Romero went the distance to pick up the win for the Saints.
Romero surrendered two runs on six hits.
He walked two and struck out four RCHS batters.
Jake Brown doubled and hit a solo home run for the Cougars.
Bradyn France singled, doubled and scored.
Braxton Riley had an RBI base hit.
The Saints totaled 11 runs and nine hits off of six RCHS pitchers.
Ryan Kim went 3-for-3 with a grand slam and five RBIs.
Kasen Khansarinia singled twice, scored two runs and had an RBI.
Rocco Regan walked, singled twice, scored once and drove in a run.
Ryder Young walked, doubled, scored three times and had an RBI.
Paul Vasquez singled and scored.
