Monrovia Steals 10 Bases in Friday’s 9-5 Rio Hondo League Victory at San Marino

Monrovia stayed even atop the Rio Hondo League standings with La Canada after a 9-5 victory over San Marino.

The Wildcats stole 10 bases and pounded out 12 hits to improve to 2-0 in league play.

Chantz Powers allowed five runs on 10 hits over four innings and was credited with the win.

He didn’t walk anyone and struck out six.

Coleman Mitchell provided two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, not walking anyone and getting five of his six outs via strikeout.

Nathan Thompson went 3-for-4, with two singles, a double, two runs scores, two stolen bases and a pair of RBIs.

Coleman Mitchell did his part at the plate as well.

Mitchell finished with three singles, two stolen bases and scored twice.

Up next: Monrovia will host La Canada on Tuesday.

First pitch is set for 3:30.
