Dean Curley & Nick Peoples Homer in Northview’s 14-7 Victory at Etiwanda; Vikings Pound out 16 Hits

Baseball:

Northview showed a lot of character on Thursday.

The Vikings trailed 4-0 on the road and against one of the area’s elite programs.

But Northview would pound out 16 hits in a 14-7 victory over Etiwanda.

Luke Bauer went five innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits.

He walked two and struck out six to earn the win.

Matt Pachuca allowed two unearned runs on one hit in the sixth, and then Ethan Galindo closed out the victory with a scoreless seventh inning in relief.

Jack Holman hit a two-run shot for Etiwanda.

Austen Roellig walked twice, singled and scored two runs.

Armando Briseno went 2-for-4, with a run scored.

Geo Mejia and Luke Mariscal both singled, scored and had an RBI.

Abraham Zapata singled twice.

Dylan Goff went the first four innings for Etiwanda, and surrendered five runs (one earned) on eight hits.

He didn’t walk a batter, struck out a pair and was not in on the decision.

Eric Valles was saddled with the loss.

Valles allowed five runs (four earned) on three hits over his one inning of work.

The Vikings got four more (three earned) off Erick Villareal before Christian Mendoza pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the Eagles.

Nine separate Northview batters had at least one hit, and five of those nine had two or more.

Nick Peoples singled, hit a three-run shot and scored twice.

Andrew Baltazar singled, doubled, tripled, scored once and had two RBIs.

Dean Curley singled, homered, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.

Eligh Hidalgo walked, singled, scored two runs and had two RBIs.

Ivan Barragan went 3-for-4, with four RBIs and two runs scored.

Gilbert Lopez doubled and scored in the win.

Andrew Paredes singled twice and scored a pair of runs.
