Baseball:

As the old song goes, “mama said there’d be days like this.”

Consider these three facts:

Northview out-hit Chino Hills, 7-2.

The Vikings have three extra-base knocks to none for the Huskies.

And Northview ace Ethan Galindo goes the distance without allowing an earned run, and yet Chino Hills claimed a 3-2 victory on Saturday.

Galindo deserved a better fate, but the Vikings lefty and his teammates will bounce back quickly.

He allowed three unearned runs in the first inning and surrendered just two hits, walking one and striking out a pair of Chino Hills batters.

Tyler Stull singled twice to account for the Huskies offense on Saturday.

Braden Hoffmeyer got the win.

Hoffmeyer allowed two runs on seven hits over his 6 2/3 innings of work.

He walked one and fanned four Vikings’ batters.

Cole Howarth got the final out to secure the save.

Eligh Hidalgo singled, doubled and scored.

Andrew Baltazar had an RBI double.

Luke Bauer went 2-for-3, with an RBI.

Gilbert Lopez singled, Nick Peoples doubled and Dean Curley scored one run in the loss.
