If there’s one lesson to be learned about the Etiwanda baseball program, it’s that you better score early and often, because their lineup gets more and more lethal as the game goes on.
The Eagles were locked in a 2-1 battle with La Quinta before exploding for eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Etiwanda improved to 5-0 in 2021 after its 10-2 victory over the Blackhawks.
Jason Bell was stuck with the loss.
Bell allowed three runs on six hits over his five innings of work.
He walked two and fanned a pair of Eagles’ batters.
Etiwanda got seven more off of Christian Sanchez.
Sanchez went just 2/3 of an inning, and surrendered five hits.
Nine separate Eagles had at least one base hit.
Austen Roellig went 2-for-4, with a run and two RBIs.
Alfredo Capacete singled, scored twice and had an RBI.
Geo Mejia went 2-for-3 and scored.
Luke Mariscal singled, drove in a pair of runs and scored.
Eric Valles contributed an RBI base hit and Yahir Ramirez singled twice and scored.
Carlos Ramirez singled twice, drove in two runs and he scored once.
Dylan Goff went six strong innings to earn the win.
Goff allowed one run on four hits.
He walked one and struck out four.
Armando Briseno scored once and drove in a pair of runs.
Abraham Zapata walked and scored.
Noah Zamudio singled and scored and Abraham Hernandez had a team-best two hits for La Quinta.
