Boys Athlete of the Week:
St. Francis started the 2024 season a brutal 0-6.
There was plenty of blame to go around, including injuries and a reasonably tough schedule.
But the Golden Knights have won two consecutive games, and they sit just one-game back of Cathedral and St. Paul in the Angelus League standings.
There have been a roster-full of contributions in wins over Alemany and Paraclete, but perhaps none greater than Isaac Fajardo.
In last Friday’s 37-13 beatdown at Alemany, Fajardo carried the ball 20 times for 135 yards.
And that included three TD’s.
Fast forward seven days, and the Golden Knights outlasted Paraclete, 39-30, in a shootout at Jim Bonds Stadium.
Playing on an injured ankle, Fajardo had 22 carries for 164 yards.
The SFHS senior had TD runs of 10, 1 and 2 yards.
Fajardo now has 470 rushing yards and eight TDs.
He’s also caught 24 passes for 141 yards and one receiving TD.
