Girls Tennis:
The Claremont girls tennis program went 3-6 in singles matches on Tuesday.
But the Wolfpack doubles teams claimed seven of their nine matches, which allowed CHS to edge Temescal Canyon, 10-8, in a nonleague contest.
Sydney La won Claremont’s three singles matches.
La won by scores of 6-2, 6-1, 6-1.
Thankfully for CHS, the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams went 6-for-6.
At No. 1 doubles, Camilla Fernandez-Delila Vargas claimed victories by scores of 6-3, 6-0 and 6-0.
The No. 2 duo of Kaili Hernandez and Angelina Alkhori earned wins of 6-2, 7-6 (3) and 6-1.
Kate Emmert-Zhen Wang, who play at No. 3, went 1-2.
Emmert and Wang’s 6-4 victory against Temescal Canyon’s No. 2 team meant the match victor would not be decided on games (totals).
