College Baseball:
Chaffey put on a remarkable offensive display on Saturday.
The Panthers secured a 31-3 IEAC victory at Victor Valley.
They out-hit the Rams, 27-7, and that includes an 11-3 advantage in extra-base hits.
Chaffey scored at least one run in all nine innings.
And they plated four or more runs in five of their nine at-bats.
The Panthers extended their current win streak to eight games.
And with four IEAC games to be played, Chaffey leads second place Desert by two games.
They’ll host the Roadrunners this coming Thursday with a chance to put the conference title on ice.
Paul Montoya was charged with 11 runs (two earned) on nine hits over 2 1/3 innings.
