Glendora knocked off the state’s 55th ranked team and made it look easy.
Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the first inning, the Tartans would score the next 13 runs to secure a 13-3 victory over Westview in a five-inning mercy-rule conquest.
The win sets up Saturday’s showdown with visiting Kaiser for the CIF State Division 3 Southern California Regional championship.
Things looked good early on for the Wolverines.
They scored three times in the top of the first on three walks, an error and a sac fly.
Andy Flores got yanked without recording an out and he was charged with two runs (one earned) on a pair of walks.
Chase Medina went 3 1/3 innings, and he surrendered an unearned runs on five hits.
Medina issued three walks and registered four strikeouts.
Santiago Garza got the final five outs without any damage to close out the win.
Eli Irvine drew a pair of walks, singled and scored.
Joseph Arango-Manley walked, singled and scored.
Charles Jaskowiak walked and scored.
Zeke Gutierrez went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Elijah Wheelan walked and singled.
Dylan Morici and Owynn Negado had one single apiece for the boys from San Diego.
Charles Jaskowiak got roughed up for nine runs (three earned) on seven hits over two innings.
Jaskowiak walked one and fanned a pair of Tartans.
Tyler Bissessar was charged with two runs (one earned) on one hit and a pair of walks over 1 1/3 innings.
And Logan Johnson surrendered a pair of runs on four walks in just 2/3 of an inning.
Aidan Yamazaki went 3-for-4 with four RBIs.
That included a two-run home run and a pair of RBI singles.
Sebastian Lawrence had an RBI groundout, an RBI double, drew a bases-loaded walk and scored.
Riley Cooper walked and scored.
John Seader continued his stellar play with a walk, singled, double, three runs and an RBI.
Tanner Grable drew two walks, singled, scored three runs and drove in one.
Santiago Garza collected a pair of singles and scored two runs.
Troy Norman drew a pair of walks, singled and scored twice in the semifinal win.
Up next: GHS will host Kaiser (21-14) on Saturday at noon for the CIF State D-3 So Cal Regional championship.
The Cats claimed road victories at No. 1 Mt. Carmel (2-0) and No. 4 Helix (7-5) to earn their spot in the title game.
