Charter Oak Improved to 8-0 Overall & 2-0 in Valle Vista League Play After Thursday’s 10-0 Five-Inning Victory at Rowland

Softball:

Charter Oak continued its victory tour on Thursday at Rowland High School.

The Chargers cruised to a 10-0 five-inning Valle Vista League victory over RHS in five innings.

In a pair of VVL games this week, the Chargers outscored the Raiders, 27-0.

They out-hit Rowland by a combined margin of 27-5.

Mibella Huerta went five scoreless innings and allowed just two hits to earn the win.

Huerta didn’t issue a walk and registered two strikeouts.

Leila Diebert struck out the side in the fifth to finish off the Raiders.

Aerin Anselmini and Emily Guzman had one single apiece to account for the Rowland offense.

Jasmin Lemus got the loss after allowing four runs on two hits over three innings.

Lemus walked one and fanned a pair of Chargers.

Destiny Rodriguez was roughed up for six runs on six hits and a pair of walks over two innings of work.

Alexa Bryan got the Charter Oak offense going with a three-run HR in the top of the third inning.

Riley Dunne went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Jazmyn Johnson singled, doubled and scored a pair of runs.

Lyla Caston singled and scored.

Mikayla Diebert singled, scored three runs and drove in a pair.

Alyssa Lopez went 1-for-1 with two RBIs.

Angalina Arcos, Sophia Ortiz and Jayla Brown walked and scored one run apiece.

Huerta helped her own cause with an RBI single.

Up next: The Chargers host Wilson on Tuesday at 3:30.
