Bonita Pounds Out 9-1 Victory Over Temecula Valley; Lambert & Banuelos Combined for Five RBIs

Bonita secured season win No. 10 after Saturday’s 9-1 victory over Temecula Valley.

The Bearcats scored twice in the first inning and never trailed.

BHS out-hit TVHS, 13-6.

Scott Forest got the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits over three innings.

Forest walked one and fanned a pair of Bearcats.

Andrew Sanchez walked, tripled and scored three times.

Cody White singled, doubled and scored a pair of runs.

Josh Angely walked, singled and scored.

Landen Lambert had a three-run double.

Drew Apodaca doubled and scored.

Joaquin Covarrubias went 2-for-3 with a walk, run and one RBI.

Brady Horn drew a pair of walks and singled.

Austin Banuelos went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.

Carlos Arredondo had an RBI single.

Gilbert Garcia singled for BHS.

With Palomares League play being their sole focus, Ryan Marcos used six pitchers to get the job done in a game that has little to no impact on their playoff position.

Sammy Duenas went two scoreless innings, allowed a pair of hits and struck out one TVHS batter.

Andrew Jeffers, Joey Garcia, Cole Teague, Evan Nguyen and Adam Raab combined to go one inning apiece, and they combined to surrender one run on four hits.

The BHS quintet walked one and struck out three.

Ryan Recio singled and scored.

Noah Arendas had an RBI ground out.

Isaiah Rauseo went 2-for-3.

Will Bandel, Cole Sprowitz and Eric Shim had one single apiece in the loss.
