College Baseball:
With Tuesday’s SCC opener tied at 3-3, Long Beach scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh to secure an 8-3 victory over their visitors from Pasadena City College.
Myles Dismute went six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits, but he wasn’t in on the decision.
Dismute walked four and struck out seven Lancers.
Niko Riera was credited with the win after going two scoreless innings and allowing one hit.
Riera issued one walk and registered four strikeouts.
Benjamin Dorantes got the final three outs, including two via strikeout.
Tyler Garcia went 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs.
Joaquin Salcedo walked, singled and scored.
Bryan Richman singled and scored.
Adrian Roman drew a pair of walks, singled, scored and had one RBI.
Omar Cisneros and Devin Munoz had one single apiece.
Isaac Ton went four innings for PCC, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks.
Aiden Nunez was charged with the loss after surrendering five runs on five hits over 2 2/3 innings.
Nunez didn’t issue a walk and fanned a pair of Vikings.
Sergio Robles provided 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief and allowed one hit.
Robles walked one and struck out one LBCC batter.
Ryan Lopetegui had an RBI triple, a solo HR and scored a pair of runs.
Eshua Desai drew a walk, and his three-run HR in the bottom of the seventh gave Long Beach an 8-3 lead.
Danny Rodriguez singled twice and scored.
Max Ghiglieri went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs.
Aaron Mingo walked, singled and scored.
Alejandro Rosas singled and scored.
Eduardo Diaz went 1-for-3 with a walk, run and one RBI.
Caleb Brandon walked and scored.
Up next: The Lancers will host the Vikings on Thursday at 2 in the hopes of evening the three-game series.
