Bonita got off to a much better start on Wednesday than they did in Monday’s season opener.
Two days ago, the Bearcats fell behind, 5-0, before rallying for an 8-6 victory over Kaiser.
Today, BHS scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning, and they cruised to a 6-0 victory over Crescenta Valley at the South Hills Tournament.
Daniel Nageer went 4 1/3 scoreless innings, and he allowed just one hit to earn the win.
Nageer issued four walks and struck out eight CV batters.
Adam Raab (1 2/3 innings) and Ryder Gibson (1) combined to get the final eight outs without any damage.
Jimmy Spears walked and singled, and Mike Herman had the other Falcons base hit.
Gunnar Herman got the loss after surrendering six runs on two hits over one-plus inning.
Herman walked five and he fanned a pair of Bearcats.
Aiden Morales (3 innings) and Mike Herman (2) combined to go the final five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three BHS batters.
Andrew Sanchez hit a grand slam in the bottom of the first inning.
Dominic Garcia and Brady Horn drew a pair of walks and scored one run each.
Austin Owens and Cody White walked and scored one run apiece.
Parker Alexander and Drew Apodaca had one single apiece to account for the rest of the Bonita offense.
Up next: The Bearcats travel to South Hills on Saturday at 1.
The Huskies (2-0) claimed a 4-1 victory over La Salle in a second-round contest.
