Baseball:
Muir opened its 2025 season with an 8-2 victory over Yeshiva.
The Mustangs spotted the Panthers two runs in the first inning.
However, Miguel Castillo and Conrad Hunziker IV would team up on the mound to shortchange the Panthers offense the rest of the way.
Castillo went five innings, and he allowed two runs on three hits.
Castillo didn’t issue a walk and struck out eight.
Hunziker went a scoreless and hitless sixth and seventh innings in relief.
He walked one and registered four strikeouts.
Manny Rosenkranz walked, scored and doubled in a run.
Noam Feldman went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Feldman was also charged with the loss after allowing six runs (five earned) on 10 hits over four innings.
Feldman walked one and fanned a pair of MHS batters.
Hunziker went 2-for-3 with a walk, double, two runs and a pair of RBIs.
Kahlil Rishwain singled twice, scored and drove in a run.
Fletcher Paddock singled and drove in a pair of runs.
Arturo Ayers singled twice and scored.
Eduardo Sosa went 2-for-2 with a walk, run and two RBIs.
Luca Cano singled and scored two runs.
Fletcher Paddock singled and drove in a pair.
Bryant Soriano walked and scored.
Max Huizar singled in a run.
Up next: The Mustangs will host Duarte on Friday at 3.
