St. Francis opened the 2025 season with a 2-1 victory over Rio Mesa in an Easton Tournament contest.
Noah Aguilar-Tanphanich went four innings, and he allowed an unearned run on three hits to earn the win.
Tanphanich walked two and fanned six RMHS batters.
Caysen Sullivan provided three scoreless innings in relief to secure the save.
Sullivan issued a pair of walks and struck out three.
Alec Fontyn drew three walks, singled and scored.
Damien Valdez, Leo Lujan and Andres Rios had one single apiece for the Spartans.
Daniel Puebla got the loss after surrendering two runs on six hits over his six-inning outing.
Puebla walked a pair and fanned five SFHS batters.
Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning, Bobby Milton drove in a run on a ground out.
And Sam Rodriguez followed with an RBI single.
Jordan Lewallen singled and tripled.
Dane Shepard singled and scored.
Dominik Hidalgo doubled and scored.
JT Martin walked and doubled.
