Baseball:
Marshall Fundamental won its fourth consecutive Mission Valley League game on Wednesday.
The Eagles defeated Rosemead, 4-3, and they currently sit one-half a game behind second-place South El Monte.
Andrew Wong went 2 2/3 innings, and he allowed two runs on four hits.
Wong walked three and struck out one Marshall batter.
Daniel Flores was saddled with the loss after allowing an unearned run on one hit over his 1 1/3 innings.
Flores didn’t issue a walk, and he struck out one.
With the game tied at 3-3, Caleb Delgado led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a single, and he would score on a Wes Pendleton ground out.
Pendleton also walked, singled and scored.
Trevor Lain singled and scored a pair of runs.
Derek Esparza went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
George Jennings walked and singled.
Ben Muro singled once for the Eagles.
Ethan Sparks wasn’t in on the decision, but he went 5 1/3 innings, and he allowed three runs on seven hits.
Sparks walked a pair of Rosemead batters, and he struck out nine.
Nate Callaway got the win after going 1 2/3 scoreless and hitless innings.
Callaway walked one and he fanned one batter.
Flores singled and scored.
Logan Mojica singled and drove in one.
Wong drew a pair of walks and singled.
Thomas Dominguez and Andrew Mojica singled and had one RBI apiece.
Gabriel Frausto walked and scored.
Up next: The Eagles will host Venice on Saturday morning at 11.
