Reyes Hits 3-Run HR to Lead Bonita to an 8-5 Palomares League Victory Over Glendora; Maaske Went Four Scoreless & Struck Out Five

Softball:

Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Bonita scored four times, and they went on to claim an 8-5 Palomares League victory over Glendora.

Gianna Messick went six innings for the Tartans, and she allowed eight runs (six earned) on seven hits.

Messick walked two and struck out three Bonita batters.

Serenity Reyes singled, and her three-run HR in the fourth inning gave BHS an 8-5 lead.

Sara Yeats doubled and scored.

Camryn Valkenburgh walked and scored a pair of runs.

Mia Guerrero walked and scored.

Kaitlyn Puppe and Brianna Juarez singled, scored and drove in one run apiece.

Avery Rubalcava singled and had one RBI.

Leah Reynolds drove in a run on a sac fly.

Avery Bowers was hit by pitch three times, scored once and had one RBI.

GHS got to Koa Puppe for five runs (four earned) on five hits over her three innings.

Puppe walked one and struck out five.

Kaitlyn Maaske went four scoreless and allowed two hits to earn the win.

Maaske issued one walk and fanned five Glendora batters.

Kennedy Bowers went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Maddie Williams, who was called up from JV, had a two-run triple and scored for GHS.

Morgan Gonzalez walked, singled and scored.

Allison Waite singled and scored.

Kylie Coleman walked and scored.

Up next: The Tartans host Rancho Cucamonga on Monday at 3:30.

And on Tuesday, the Bearcats host the area’s wins leader (Etiwanda, 14-2) at 3:30.
