Baseball:
Athen Malone did just about everything he could to make sure Charter Oak stayed unbeaten in Valle Vista League play.
Malone got the win, going two scoreless and hitless innings, and he struck out two in the Chargers 14-0 victory over Diamond Ranch.
At the plate, Malone walked, doubled, homered, scored three runs and had three RBIs.
Benny Aquino was charged with the loss.
Aquino surrendered eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits over 2 1/3 innings.
Julian Salmon singled, doubled, scored twice and had a pair of RBIs.
Diego Ortiz went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
Ezekial Escalera had an RBI single.
Anthony Vasquez doubled in two.
Samuel Morales singled twice and scored.
Nathan Arevalos had an RBI single.
Chris Gonzalez singled and scored.
Kaleb Valencia, Moses Medrano and Julian Muro walked and scored one run apiece.
Josiah Martinez singled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Daniel Hirota walked, singled, drove in two and scored twice.
Jacob Gonzalez provided three scoreless innings on the mound for COHS.
He allowed one hit, walked two and fanned four Diamond Ranch batters.
