College Baseball:
If high scoring baseball games are your thing, Brookside Park was the place to be on Tuesday.
Trailing by four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, PCC exploded for nine and claimed a 13-8 victory over visiting Golden West.
The game featured 21 runs, 33 hits and 10 pitchers.
Of the 33, 13 were of the extra-base variety, including five doubles apiece for both programs.
The comeback started when Matt Rice walked with the bases loaded.
Jake Trabbie followed with a 3-run home run that pulled PCC to within 8-7.
Damien Ureta’s two-run double gave the Lancers a 9-8 lead that they would not relinquish.
Aryonis Harrison singled in a run, and Trabbie doubled in two to pull away from Golden West.
PCC got four runs on seven hits and four walks off JD Rodriguez.
Matt Gaunt surrendered four runs on five hits, and Andrew Stanley got the loss, allowing five runs on five hits and one walk over just 2/3 of an inning.
Trabbie went 3-for-5 with the double, home run, two runs and five RBIs.
Rice walked, singled twice, doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
Aryonis Harrison went 3-for-4 with two walks, three runs and an RBI.
Jakob Guardado walked twice, singled, doubled and scored two runs.
Kuriya walked, singled twice, doubled and drove in a run.
Amaris Harrison walked, had two singles, an RBI and scored one run.
Damien Ureta doubled, scored and had two RBIs.
Evan Coad walked, singled and scored twice.
Golden West got three runs on six hits off Patrick Garcia, and five runs on seven hits from Nathan Mertens.
Ian Schenk, Jacob Fox and Rider Gardner, however, would combine to go four scoreless innings, allowing two hits, not issuing a single walk and striking out four.
Preston Allen doubled, homered and drove in two runs for the Rustlers.
Adam Baggetta had an RBI single and a three-run HR.
Ayden Garcia singled, doubled and scored.
Nathan Beckley walked, singled, doubled and scored.
Ulisses Perez singled, doubled, scored twice and had an RBI.
Dylan Taguiam went 2-for-4 and scored.
Dylan Kordic doubled and scored.
Up next: The Lancers travel to Palomar on Saturday at 1.
