Softball:
Just over three weeks ago, Claremont claimed a 2-1 victory over Bonita.
It dropped the Bearcats to 0-2 in league.
But fast forward 22 days, and this time, BHS was on the right side of a 2-1 final.
Brooklyn Shroyer went the distance and allowed one run on six hits.
Shroyer didn’t issue a walk and fanned 12 Wolfpack batters.
The lone ran came on a Nathalia Chavez solo shot in the top of the second inning, but that would be all that Shroyer would allow.
Kacie Gossett went the distance for CHS, and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits.
Gossett didn’t issue a walk and struck out four.
Alyssa Doucette doubled in a run.
Kailey Scott and Melany Vaca both singled and scored one run apiece.
Up next: The Bearcats travel to Capistrano Valley this morning (Saturday) at 10.
