The Arroyo Seco Sentinels began the final two weeks of the regular season on a high note.
One night after the BOTW All-Star game, Seco claimed an impressive 10-1 victory over the first-place Ventura County Pirates.
Jordan Townley earned the win, going five innings and allowing one run on three hits.
Townley walked one and struck out four VCP batters.
Jesse Espinoza went three scoreless innings for the Sentinels, and Bryce Cerminelli provided one scoreless inning of relief.
Darren Taylor doubled in the Pirates’ lone run in the first inning.
Ryan Camacho went 2-for-4 and scored one run.
Daniel Laughery singled, doubled and walked, and Andrew Buglino drew two walks.
Robbie Treto doubled, while Cyan Tyger Mezin and Eli Paton had one single apiece.
Alex Abbot was stuck with the loss.
Abbot went six innings and gave up six runs (four earned) on five hits.
He waked one and struck out a pair of Seco batters.
Jason Givens singled, homered and drove in a game-high three runs.
Mikey Easter singled twice and scored.

VCP is now 0ne-half game back of the Inland Valley Pirates for first place in the BOTW standings, and the Sentinels are one-half game behind the third-place So Cal Shepherds.
