Baseball:
South Hills officially clinched another Hacienda League championship on Tuesday.
The Huskies pounded out 17 hits in a 16-0 victory at Los Altos.
With one game remaining, South Hills has a two-game lead over second-place Walnut.
Matt Lorenzano went five scoreless innings and allowed just one hit.
Lorenzano didn’t walk anyone, struck out six LAHS batters and improved his personal record to 9-1.
Athen Malone and Dylan Esquival both provided one scoreless inning of relief.
Malone got two of his three outs via strikeout and Esquival fanned one.
Evan Toledo doubled and David Castillo singled to account for the Los Altos offense.
South Hills got to Isaac Pinedo for five runs on five hits.
They scored three runs on six hits against Keanu Rodriguez, and got five more on four hits off Jake Ruelas
Last but not least, South Hills scored three runs on two hits versus Angel Simental.
Paul Vazquez doubled twice, scored and drove in a run for the Huskies.
Andrew Ramirez singled twice, drove in a pair of runs and scored.
Jeremiah Sibrian went 4-for-5, with two runs and an RBI.
Kai Penuelas singled, doubled, scored three runs and had three RBIs.
Ethan Lee singled, scored and had an RBI.
Gilbert Morales singled, scored twice and drove in a run.
Marcos Rosales went 2-for-5, with a pair of RBIs and runs scored.
Damien Cornejo singled twice, doubled, drove in a pair of runs and crossed the plate twice.
Steven Jimenez scored twice and had an RBI.
Up next: South Hills will host Los Altos on Thursday in their regular season finale.
