With one game to play in the 2022 regular season, Marshall Fundamental and Arroyo are tied atop the Mission Valley League standings.
Both programs are 9-2 in league play.
On Tuesday, the Eagles defeated South El Monte, 17-4, in five innings.
And the Knights claimed a 10-0 victory over winless El Monte.
If Arroyo and Marshall both win in Thursday’s regular-season finale, the Eagles hold the tiebreaker after their 2-0 head-to-head record.
Travis Delgado went three scoreless innings to earn the win.
Delgado allowed just two hits, didn’t issue a walk and struck out six.
Wes Pendleton provided a scoreless inning of relief and SEM got to Gabe Mabee for four runs (two earned) on one hit.
Mabee walked one and fanned one.
Marshall got seven runs on seven hits against Ruben Reyes, seven more off Christian Castaneda on four hits and three runs on three hits against Christian Ortega.
Nick Chew singled, doubled twice, scored and drove in a game-high four runs.
Delgado singled three times, scored twice and had three RBIs.
Pendleton singled, doubled and scored.
Devan Kelly singled twice, drove in a run and scored two runs.
Ryan Pandullo singled, scored and had two RBIs.
Sam Karp singled twice and scored.
Conrad Hunziker singled, scored three runs and had two RBIs.
Andrew Quijada singled, scored twice and drove in one run.
Up next: Marshall will host fourth-place Mountain View (8-11, 6-5) on Thursday in the regular season finale.
The first pitch is set for 3:15.
