Girls Basketball:
La Salle girls basketball coach Scott Wiard is hosting a four-day girls youth camp for athletes between the sixth and eighth grades.
It will take place on June 28th & July 1st at La Salle High school.
Wiard is offering a two-for-one, as his father, Richard Wiard, will be co-leading the camp.
Richard Wiard is one of the most accomplished girls basketball coaches in SGV history.
He claimed five CIF-SS and a pair of CIF-State basketball titles.
We asked Wiard to describe what the camp will provide.
“Campers receive instruction in the fundamentals of basketball, including shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, and defensive techniques, he said. “The daily program will include not only the practicing of fundamentals, but also special contests, daily scrimmages and special awards. Each player will have an opportunity to compete according to her skill level.”

The Bulldogs hosted Crescenta Valley in a battle of Pacific League unbeatens, and both programs were well aware that the outcome of Saturday night’s showdown would almost certainly secure the league crown. Boys Basketball: It had to be bittersweet for the Pasadena players to walk back in their gym 48 hours after Saturday’s 76-75 Pacific League loss to Crescenta Valley. The Falcons overcame a 14-point second-half deficit to stun the Bulldogs. So, how would PHS respond? Tony Brooks’ boys took out their frustration on Burroughs in an […]

On senior night, though, the Saints edged Colony, 52-50, thanks to a dramatic finish. Andrew Diep’s bucket with 3.7 seconds to play was the difference. […]
