Baseball:
Los Osos grinded out a 3-2 victory at Chino Hills High School in the Baseline League opener for both programs.
The Grizzlies got one run in the top of the fourth inning, and they scored twice in the sixth.
Brody Buoncristiani got the loss, allowing three runs on seven hits over his complete-game effort.
Buoncristiani issued two walks and fanned six.
Josh Chairez had a pair of doubles, including a two-run double with two outs in the top of the sixth to give LOHS a 3-1 lead.
Justin Yeutter singled, doubled and scored.
Jordan Mejico walked, scored and drew a bases-loaded walk in the fourth to get the Grizzlies on the board.
Sean Brian walked and singled.
Wyatt Mohler and Hunter Meyer had one single apiece.
Reagan Samples went 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits.
Samples didn’t issue a walk, and he struck out four CHHS batters.
Zenen Pena (2/3 IP) and Gavin Loeb-Keene (1) combined to get the final five outs without allowing a run, hit or walk.
Frankie Brazil and Jacob Jimenez doubled and scored one run apiece.
Anthony Medyn’s RBI single in the fifth tied the game at 1-1.
Josh Mendez had an RBI ground out in the sixth inning.
Tatum Borgogno and Buoncristiani singled once each for the Huskies.
