Girls Swimming:

The 2021 season may have come to an end on Saturday for the San Dimas girls program, but not before a solid showing at the CIF-SS Division 3 finals.

And none better than freshman, Carolyn Kao.

Kao placed 8th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.98, which is a school record.

And she set another SDHS record, thanks to a time of 54.39 in the 100 freestyle.

Kao finished eighth and 10th, respectively, in the 200 IM, and 100 freestyle.

And with two individual school records to her name, Kao teamed up for two more in the 200 and 400-freestyle relays with her teammates.

The 200 free relay, comprised of Nature Reep, Alison Hintz, Alyssa Fox and Carolyn Kao, placed ninth with a school-record time of 1:44.04.

The 400 free relay (Nature Reep, Lana Yoho, Alyssa Fox and Carolyn Kao) finished ninth (3:48.92).

The girls end the season as the undefeated Valle Vista League champions, and 16th overall at CIF.

Carolyn Kao was also the league MVP.

Quotable:

San Dimas swim coach, Danny Feola: “The girls worked hard this season and showed a lot of grit. Since they weren’t able to be in the water for a year, it was tough getting back into the swing of training hard. They continued to push all season and overcame a variety of physical and mental obstacles. Their hard work all paid off in the end with a strong showing at CIF and an undefeated league championship. I am very proud of all of them.”
