Baseball:
In consecutive Friday’s, Ayala has jumped on Glendora early in two different sports and cruised to a victory.
Last week it was football, and today, the Bulldogs got six first-inning runs and defeated the Tartans, 9-5.
Donovann Jackson was stuck with the loss.
He surrendered eight runs (five earned) on eight hits over his three innings of work.
Jackson walked a pair and struck out two.
Ryan Moreno doubled, homered and drove in two runs.
Troy McCain singled, doubled, scored twice and had an RBI.
Ty Borgogno went 3-for-4, including a double and run scored.
Jacob Badawi hit a solo home run.
Mateo Matthews singled, drove in a pair of runs and scored.
Marcus Galvan walked, singled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
Andreas Pasillas went 2 1/3 innings and allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits.
He walked five and struck out four.
AJ Juarez allowed just one run over his 3 2/3 inning and Nico Masucci closed out the victory with a perfect seventh inning of relief.
Michael Moses went 3-for-4 and scored three runs for GHS.
Matt Gonzales walked and had a pair of singles.
Braydon Wooldridge walked and had an RBI and Carson Mounce walked and scored.
Matthew Moreno went 2-for-4, with a run scored and RBI.
Jeff Isenhart walked and singled, Shane Mion walked and had an RBI and Troy Estrada had an RBI base hit for the Tartans.
After a pair of losses this week, Glendora falls two games back of both Bonita and Ayala in the Palomares League chase.
