Football:
Braydon Brus had a pretty epic Thursday.
The Glendora junior got an offer from UCLA earlier in the day.
And the Tartans best athlete finished off the night with 239 yards rushing and four touchdowns.
Glendora defeated Bonita, 35-28, to close out the abbreviated 2021 spring football season at 4-1.
Brus scored on runs of 45, 56, 8 and 39 yards.
Bonita battled throughout and held leads of 7-0, 14-7 and 21-14, before the Tartans’ rushing game took over.
Along with Brus’ production on the ground, GHS senior Noah Acuna carried the ball 23 times for 180 yards.
Bonita senior Sean Jastrab gave the Bearcats a 14-7 lead when he bought himself time and found Hunter Grosenbach in the back of the east end zone.
Jastrab and Trevor Cadam also connected on a couple impressive toss and catches on Thursday.
Cadam and Brus turned in phenomenal performances for the Bearcats and Tartans, respectively.
Cadam picked off Glendora sophomore Jake Denerson and brought it back 96 yards for a pick-six, and Bonita led 21-14.
Not to be outdone, on the first play from scrimmage, Brus would tie the game at 21-21, on a 56-yard sprint.
Brus would then score on 8-and-39-yard runs on consecutive drives to give GHS a 35-21 lead.
Bonita scored on the last play of the game when Grosenbach caught a 22-yard scoring strike from backup quarterback, Daniel Andrade.
Denerson and JT Greep hooked up on a 5-yard TD earlier in the game for GHS.
Both sides, especially the seniors deserve so much credit for their patience and hard work during these unprecedented times.
