Jack Van Cleve hasn’t skipped a beat.

After leading the RHP football program to a 3-0 season, he’s back on the pitchers mound.

And that wasn’t good news for Providence.

Van Cleve went the distance in Tuesday’s 3-1 Prep League victory over the Pioneers.

He surrendered one run on four hits, walked one and struck out 13.

Van Cleve got eight of the nine Pioneers batters on strikes at least once.

Gunnar Pratt singled twice and drove in the only run of the game for Providence.

Evan Jaquez doubled and scored.

Pratt was struck with the loss.

He surrendered two runs (one earned) on four hits over five innings.

He walked two and fanned a pair of Kares’ batters.

Anderson Lang walked and scored and Ryan McCulloch went 2-for-3, with an RBI.

Calvin Johnson singled and scored and Raymond Montez walked and scored.

Damyan Diaz had an RBI base hit in the win.
