Girls Tennis:
The Claremont High tennis program got a balanced effort in Tuesday’s 15-3 victory over Ayala.
CHS went 7-2 in singles, and 8-1 in doubles matches.
Claremont’s No. 1 singles player, Sydney La, cruised once again.
La won all three of her sets (and matches), and didn’t drop a single game.
Kyriaki Papadatos (No. 2 singles) and Marina De Nigris (No. 3) both went 2-1.
Ayala’s No. 2 singles player, Kayleen Guzman, went 2-0, including a 6-3 victory over Papadatos, and she defeated De Nigris, 6-4.
Claremont’s No. 1 and No. 3 doubles teams went a combined 6-0.
Liz Gonzales and partner, Camila Fernandez, won by scores of 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0 at No. 1.
At No. 3, Paige Ruffner and Kareen Holstrom subbed in and won both of their matches.
Alyssa Miao and Angelina Alkhouri claimed a 6-3 victory against Ayala’s No. 3 doubles team.
Up next: Claremont will travel to Alta Loma on Thursday.
