Volleyball:

Since 2017, San Dimas has known nothing else besides being a league champion.

And it doesn’t look like that’s going to change this season either.

After Wednesday’s four-game victory over Alta Loma, the Saints hold a two-game Hacienda League lead over both South Hills and ALHS with three matches to play.

SDHS won by scores of 25-17, 19-25, 25-23 and 27-25.

San Dimas set the tone early, controlling the pace to claim the opening set 25-17.

Alta Loma came roaring back in the second, capitalizing on behind-the-baseline struggles for San Dimas to take the frame 25-19 and even the match.

The Saints regrouped in a tight third set, making critical plays late to pull out a 25-23 victory and regain the momentum.

The fourth set delivered maximum drama.

Down by two late in the frame and facing a potential fifth set, the Saints turned to Isabella Dimalanta off the bench.

Dimalanta delivered a clutch serving run, firing off back-to-back aces to ignite a rally and bring San Dimas right back into the game.

The Saints’ game plan heavily emphasized defensive coverage to counter Alta Loma’s powerful back-court attack—a strategy that ultimately proved to be the difference-maker in the closing points of a 27-25 extra-points victory.

San Dimas was anchored by stat lines across the floor:

Juliana Picazo put together a dominant 20-20 style performance, leading the Saints with a massive 19 kills and 20 digs.

Taylor Smith delivered a stellar all-around stat line, recording 9 kills, 12 assists, and a team-high 25 digs to anchor the defense.

Neriah Bobadilla brought high impact on both ends, filling the stat sheet with 9 kills, 3 aces, and 20 digs.

Kalissa Disney expertly ran the Saints’ offense, setting up hitters all night to finish with a team-leading 20 assists.

Despite a tough serving night as a collective unit, the Saints showed immense resilience, making the critical defensive stops when it mattered most to secure one of their biggest home wins of the season.
