Marshall Jumps on Santa Rosa Academy Early & Secures an 8-5 Road Victory in First Round of CIF-SS D-8 Playoffs

Marshall opened the CIF-SS Division 8 playoffs with an 8-5 victory over their hosts from Santa Rosa Academy.

The Rangers entered the contest 224 spots higher than the Eagles in the MaxPreps state rankings.

Marshall scored four runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed.

David Ouch went 5 2/3 innings to earn the win, and he surrendered four runs (one earned) on nine hits.

Ouch issued a pair of walks and registered eight strikeouts.

Caleb Kaloostian provided 1 1/3 innings in relief and he was charged with one run on three hits.

Kaloostian walked one and fanned a pair of SRA batters.

Elijah Brewer went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

Logan Ledesma singled and scored.

Luke Hamilton went 3-for-4 with a run, triple and one RBI.

Maxwell Dupree walked, singled twice and scored a pair of runs.

Brayden Gosy had a pair of singles and Nate Bock had one hit for the Rangers.

Dupree got the loss after surrendering five runs (two earned) on six hits over three innings.

Dupree walked one and fanned three Marshall batters.

Will Jennings walked and doubled.

David Ouch drew a pair of walks, singled and scored two runs.

Chris Romero singled and scored.

Kaden Mullins went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.

Liam Wahlstrom walked, singled and scored.

Ian Macready singled and scored.

Elijah Lain had an RBI single and scored.

Miles Pendleton had an RBI ground out.

Eli Macias walked and had an RBI single.

Luis Magallanes scored once in the road win.

Up next: The Eagles host Chadwick on Tuesday at 3:15.

The Dolphins (12-10) claimed a 6-1 victory over their visitors from Vasquez.
