Baseball:
After nine days off, San Dimas edged their visitors from La Canada, 7-6, in Saturday’s Pizza Chalet Tournament make-up game.
The Spartans trailed 5-0 as they grabbed their bats in the top of the sixth inning.
LCHS scored six runs to take a one-run lead.
However, the Saints scored once in the bottom of the sixth and eighth innings.
Dean Brosterhous went three scoreless innings, and allowed two hits, no walks and three strikeouts.
Cash Parry was charged with six runs (three earned) on eight hits over four innings.
Brosterhous and Parry plunked two batters apiece.
Eleazar Santillan got credited for the win after going a scoreless eighth and allowing one hit and registering one strikeout.
Eight of the nine La Canada starters had at least one hit.
Benji Geller was hit by pitch, walked, singled and scored.
Austin Loughrin doubled in a run and scored.
Brandon Mohaghegh was hit by pitch, singled, had an RBI ground out and scored.
Ross Piken was hit by pitch and scored.
Chase Regan went 2-for-4 with a run and one RBI.
Joe Bell had a pair of singles.
Finn Flowerhogan went 2-for-5, including an RBI single.
Will Park walked, singled in a run and scored.
Ethan Wong was hit by pitch and singled in a run.
Nick Pieper went three innings and he surrendered five runs (one earned) on six hits.
Pieper didn’t issue a walk and registered three strikeouts.
Benji Geller provided two scoreless, hitless innings.
Geller didn’t walk a batter and struck out one.
Joe Bell was charged with one run on two hits and a hit batter in two innings of work.
Bell walked two and fanned one SDHS batter.
Finn Flowerhogan was struck with the loss after allowing one run on one hit and a walk over 2/3 of an inning.
Santillan went 3-for-5 with a double, run and two RBIs, including the game winner.
Aaden Escarcega hit a solo home run.
Sho Yang went 2-for-4 with a double, run and one RBI.
James Rocha was hit by pitch, singled in a run and scored.
Noah Esquival walked, singled and scored.
Austin Sarkdavisarak walked and scored.
Louis Farias singled and drove in a run.
Up next: The Spartans host Village Christian on Tuesday.
The Saints visit Colony on Monday in the first of a three-game Hacienda League series.
