Flag Football:
Glendora made history for the second time this week.
On Tuesday, the Tartans secured the program’s first flag football playoff win.
It was a 13-12 victory at Torrance in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs.
Fast forward four days, and Glendora claimed a second 13-12 triumph over their visitors from Long Beach Millikan.
The Tartans scored all 13 of their points in the third period, while the Rams scored twice in the fourth quarter.
Millikan scored with 34 seconds to play to pull to within one point of GHS.
However, Morgan Anderson capped off her incredible performance with a sack of the MHS quarterback to secure the win, and a trip to the D-3 quarterfinal round.
Anderson led the GHS defense with six flag pulls and three sacks.
Sofia Freking had a 30-yard pick-six and Morgan Gonzalez caught the extra-point pass to extend the Glendora lead to 13-0.
Freking also had four tackles.
Maddie Finkbiner totaled a game-high eight flag pulls.
Myra Torres (6), Reagan Herrmann (5) and Stella Silva (4) combined for 15 tackles.
Olivia Martin picked a pass and had one flag pull.
Offensively, Rylee Franks completed 17-of-33 for 129 yards.
Franks hit Emily Husung on a 16-yard TD strike to give GHS a 6-0 lead.
Charlotte Bohn tallied seven catches for 39 yards.
Hailey Travisano had nine carries for 49 yards.
Up next: GHS travels to Long Beach on Tuesday at 5 to take on Poly.
The Jackrabbits (14-11) secured a 26-7 victory over visiting Norco.

Quotable:
Glendora coach, Greg Bidolli: “We took away the deep ball. They have three receivers that are outstanding. Our two corners (Sofia Freking & Myra Torres) did a great job and everyone on defense made adjustments throughout. Any time you’re in the playoffs and you get a 13-0 lead, it’s gigantic. Millikan did a great job in stopping what we wanted to do. We made an adjustment on the fly and Rylee hit Emily for a TD. In league, everybody knows each other. So, it was nice to play against someone from out of the area that didn’t know everything we do. Once again, I am very proud of this entire team! They came with a ton of energy and just don’t seem to want the season to end. That was a very good Millikan team we beat tonight. Now, we need to prepare for a very good Long Beach Poly team next Tuesday.”
