Flag Football:
One day after a season-opening 32-0 victory at Chaffey, Bonita host Bishop Amat on Wednesday afternoon.
The Lancers and Bearcats both got on the board in the second quarter, and the game stayed tied at 6-6 until BAHS scored in overtime to claim a 13-6 victory.
A potential game-winning pass with 37 seconds was called back on an illegal block infraction.
Tressa Beatty completed 11-of-26 for 153 yards.
Beatty didn’t toss a TD pass and was picked three times.
However, the Bearcats senior gained 82 yards on the ground on 12 carries, including BHS’ lone score of the game.
Jenna Campbell and Kody McKinney gained 12 yards apiece on two carries each.
McKinney caught three passes for 34 yards.
Laila Washington had 52 receiving yards on a pair of catches.
Peyton Mann and Haley Kurey had two receptions each for 25 yards.
Laney Sweeney caught a pair of passes for 18 yards.
Grace Tolan and Marley Flores led the BHS defense with four tackles apiece.
Beatty totaled three tackles.
Hayden Andrew had three tackles and one interception for Bonita.
Up next: The Bearcats will battle West Covina, San Gabriel and Sierra Vista on Saturday.
