Girls Tennis:
Marshall Fundamental has earned a spot in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 5 playoffs.
The Eagles defeated Tustin, 11-7, on Wednesday.
Marshall’s No. 1 & No. 2 singles players, Hannah Hagiwara and Diana Kasabian, went 6-0.
Hagiwara had wins of 6-1, 6-0 and a default.
And Kasabian won by scores of 6-1, default, and 6-2, respectively.
The No. 1 & No. 2 doubles teams both won two of their three matches.
Sierra Bethelmy & Keri Santiago’s set scores at No. 1 doubles were 6-0, 6-1, & 2-6.
And Lexie Palacios & Sophia Alpuche’s had set scores of 6-1, 1-6, & 7-5.
At No. 3 doubles, Tehilah Ofumbi & Parisa Vazira earned one win, and their scores were as follow: 0-6, 6-4, 2-6.
Up next: The Eagles will host Rosemead on Friday at 2.
The Panthers defeated Maranatha, 11-7, in their first-round match.
