Huntington Beach Ends Western Christian’s Record Season w/a 29-21 Victory in CIF D-1 Playoffs; Estrada Tossed Three TD Passes

Western Christian saw its remarkable inaugural season come to an end on Saturday.

The Lancers fell, 29-21, at Huntington Beach, in the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs.

Western Christian’s 24 wins is tops among any SGV area program.

The Oilers took a 22-7 lead into the break, and they outlasted the Lancers in Surf City.

Maliyah Estrada, the Lancers’ freshman quarterback, went 23 of 30 for 171 yards.

Estrada tossed three TD passes and two interceptions.

She totaled an insane 103 TDs in 28 games.

Mikaela Burchell had 13 receptions for 92 yards, including one TD and a pair of 2-point conversion catches.

Bailey Osborne caught five passes for 43 yards.

Grace Galdamez had 19 receiving yards and one TD, and 17 rushing yards.

Bella Smiderle reeled in a four-yard TD pass.

The Lancers defense caused three turnovers.

Bailey Osborne picked two passes and Grace Galdamez had one.
