Facing a Colony program with just one win in 2024 (1-16 at kickoff), Western Christian was able to get a number of its athletes some legit playing time on Monday.
Kyla Johnson got the start over her fellow freshman, Maliyah Estrada, and she completed 15-of-26 for 161 yards in a 26-18 victory in Ontario.
Johnson tossed a pair of TD’s and no picks.
Estrada actually got one pass attempt on Monday, and it went for a 24-yard TD.
It was her 80th touchdown pass of the season.
Johnson also rushed for 39 yards on seven carries.
Josie Mendez led the Lancers with 48 yards on six carries.
Raya Hansen (3-for-52 & one TD), Izzy Balderrama (3-for-26) and Estrada (3-for-30) combined for nine receptions for 108 yards and one score.
Bailey Osborne had a 24-yard TD catch.
Carla Reeves caught a 6-yard TD pass.
Sofia Prentice had a pair of receptions for 28 yards.
Bailee Bekins (3) and Aryana Munoz (2) led the WCHS defense with five combined tackles.
Charlotte Deon, Savannah Lugo and Siennah Nelson had one interception apiece for the Lancers.
Up next: The Lancers host Etiwanda on Wednesday night at 7.
