Flag Football:
Etiwanda won its eighth consecutive game on Tuesday.
And it was dramatic.
The Eagles improved to 2-0 in Baseline League games after a 25-19 victory over Rancho Cucamonga in double overtime.
Alivia Gordon got EHS on the board with a 60-yard TD run.
Gordon gave the Eagles a 13-0 lead on a 77-yard TD run.
Freshman Mariah Wakumoto caught a 17-yard TD from sophomore quarterback, Cassandra Vazquez to close out the first half.
After being shut out in the first overtime, the EHS defense and sophomore Janelle Martinez deflected a pass to send the game into a second OT period.
Back on defense again, Martinez and Karli Aguilar deflected passes in the corner of the corner of the end zone.
Vazquez completed a pass to Wakumoto for a huge gain in the red zone.
And one play later, senior captain and wide receiver, Samantha Garcia, scored the game-winning TD on a scoring strike from Vazquez.
Up next: Etiwanda welcomes King on Saturday morning at 9.
RCHS will host St. Lucy’s on Monday at 5.
