Flag Football:
Etiwanda got off to a slow start in the first Baseline League flag football game in school history.
But in the second half, the Eagles outscored visiting Chino Hills, 25-6, to claim a 44-28 victory over the Huskies.
Cassandra Vazquez ended the first half on a high note, finding freshman Aliana Rodriguez on a 59-yard scoring strike.
Vazquez and Alyssa Galindo, both threw for north of 125 yards each, and Galindo tossed a pair of TD passes.
Alivia Gordon and Ellie Fitzpatrick anchored the Eagles’ ground game, including two rushing TD’s apiece.
Teresa Garcia and Emily Garcia both picked off a pass for the Etiwanda defense.
Up next: CHHS and EHS will both be in action on Tuesday.
The Eagles host RCHS and the Huskies travel to St. Lucy’s.
