Girls Basketball:
Heading into Valle Vista League play, Covina had no reason for optimism.
The Colts were 3-14.
Fast forward three days, and CHS is 2-0 in VVL games.
And that includes Wednesday’s 50-44 victory over a solid Northview program.
Covina used a 31-20 run in the second half to defeat the Vikings.
Danie Singley had a monster game with 31 points.
Singley scored 20 in the second half, including 13 in the fourth quarter.
Britney Wilson chipped in with 13 in the win.
Neveah Verdines-O’Cain led Northview with 13 points.
Alana Mendoza had 10 points, and Alexis Navarro finished with seven.
Up next: On Friday, the Vikings and Colts host San Dimas and Charter Oak, respectively.
