Swimming:
Ella Lesnever might be young, but she’s made waves since day one at Blair High School.
Literally.
The Vikings’ sophomore, coming off a remarkable effort for the water polo program, made her mark at this weekend’s CIF-SS Division 3 finals at Riverside City College.
Lesnever won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.76.
That was just over a second faster than Claremont’s Mia Gamble, who finished at 24.78.
It also qualified Lesnever for the CIF State Meet in Fresno.
Last year at the CIF-SS finals, she won the D-4 title in the 50 freestyle, and her time this past weekend would have been good enough to claim the Division 2 championship as well.
In the 100 free, Lesnever placed second with a time of 52.28.
Xavier’s Ava Ottenson (51.91) took first place in the 100.
