Baseball:
The Ventura County Pirates claimed the 2022 Best of the West League championship after defeating the Inland Valley Pirates in the title-round.
VCP defeated IVP, 6-4, on July 29th to take a 1-0 lead in a best of three series.
Inland Valley ran out of pitching and after game one, they had to concede game two and the series to Ventura County.
It was the VCP’s second title in the last five years.
And along with the league championship came the Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Pitcher honors for Ryan Camacho and Dandre Carter, respectively.
Below are the all-BOTW League honorees.
Most Valuable Player: Ryan Camacho, Ventura County Pirates:
Camacho batted .382 with 47 hits, 23 runs, 16 RBIs, five doubles and two triples.
Camacho stole 12 bases and had a .458 on-base percentage.
Most Valuable Pitcher: Deandre Carter, Ventura County Pirates:
Carter went 5-2 with a 2.50 ERA.
Carter struck out 22 batters in 39 2/3 innings, and surrendered just 11 earned runs.
Best of the West All Summer Team (minimum of 50 plate appearances):
Catchers:
Brenden Coffindaffer, So Cal Shepherds:
Coffindaffer batted .326 with 28 hits, 14 runs, 17 RBIs and had a .422 on-base percentage.
Bryce Cerminelli, Arroyo Seco Sentinels:
Cerminelli batted .352 BA, with 25 hits, 18 runs, 12 RBIs and a .471 on-base percentage.
Mickey Easter, Arroyo Seco Sentinels:
Easter batted .327 with 17 hits, 16 runs, seven RBIs, one HR and a .526 OBP.
MIF & INF:
Matt Flaharty, East LA Dodgers:
Flaharty batted .329 with 28 hits, 15 runs, six RBIs and a .418 OBP.
Taer Rodriguez, Arroyo Seco Sentinels:
Rodriguez batted .333, with 17 hits, six runs, 12 RBIs and a .452 OBP.
Anthony McFarland, IV Pirates:
McFarland batted .338 BA, 71 AB, 14 Runs, 24 Hits, 2 HR, 12 RBI’s, .405 OBP.
JJ Cruz, LB Legends:
Cruz batted .367 with 18 hits, 11 runs, 10 RBIs, three home runs and an OBP of .446.
Alex Loera, East LA Dodgers:
Loera batted .357 BA, with 15 hits, 11 runs, three stolen bases and a .509 OBP.

White batted .408 BA with 20 hits, six runs, 12 RBIs, seven stolen bases and a .463 OBP.
Quintt Landis, VC Pirates:
Landis batted .391, with 18 hits, 11 runs, nine RBIs, two home runs and a .525 OBP.
Jacob Badawi, IV Pirates:
Badawi batted .365 with 24 hits, eight runs, 12 RBIs and a .430 OBP.

Burns batted .362 with 17 hits, 15 runs, nine RBIs, two home runs and a .474 OBP.
Michael Cunningham, East LA Dodgers:
Cunningham batted .344 with 22 hits, 20 runs, 10 RBIs and a .463 OBP.
Ryan Guerero, LB Legends:
Guerrero batted .340 with 16 hits, 10 runs, nine RBIs, and a home run.

Santos batted .329 with 25 hits, 12 runs, 16 RBIs, and a .422 OBP.
Jovan Camacho, VC Pirates:

Tovar batted .342, with 27 hits, 14 runs, 13 RBIs, and a .425 OBP.

Xavier Stoker, VC Pirates:
Stoker went 2-0 with three saves. In 17 IP, he did not allow an earned run, surrendering eight hits and striking out nine.
Zac Czerniawski, IV Pirates:
Czerniawski went 3-1 with a 1.93 ERA and had one save. He went 28 IP, had a 7-inning n0-hitter, issued nine walks and fanned 32 batters.
Hayden Coon, Arroyo Seco Sentinels:
Coon went 2-1 with a 1.69 ERA. In 21 1/3 IP, he allowed 18 hits, walked four and struck out 26 batters.
Joe Godoy, East LA Dodgers:
Godoy was 0-1, with a 1.85 ERA. He went 39 IP, allowed 11 runs, walked 21 and struck out 34 batters.
Jake Moore, Arroyo Seco Sentinels:
Moore went 2-0, with a 1.59 ERA. He pitched 17 innings, allowed three earned runs, walked six and fanned 13 batters.
Trevor Hinkle, IV Pirates:
Hinkle was 1-1 with a 2.08 ERA. He went 13 IP, allowed three earned runs, walked seven and fanned 19 batters.
Closer:
Josh Yosfan, VC Pirates:
Yosfan totaled six saves and had an ERA of 1.38. He went 26 IP, allowing four earned runs, walked four and struck out 26.
