Girls Hoops:
It seems difficult to label Flintridge Prep and Pasadena Poly rivals in girls’ basketball.
Afterall, the Panthers haven’t defeated the Wolves since a three-point (55-52) victory back on January 28th of 2014.
Poly entered Friday’s Prep League showdown at 4-0 in league play, while Prep stood at 2-0.
The Wolves jumped on the Panthers early, and they cruised to a 73-37 road victory.
Prep lead 35-15 at the half, and they closed out the blowout on a 20-8 run.
Megan Quoch led the way with 19 points, seven rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
Akemi Fu chipped in with 14 points, 10 rebounds and three steals.
Maddie Smith finished with 14 points, four rebounds, 11 assists and three steals.
Addison Lee provided 14 points, six rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.
Areni (11) and Lori (6) Ohanian combined to score 17 of Poly’s 37 points.
Harper Doyle finished with six points in the loss.
Up next: The Wolves will battle JSerra (15-2) tonight at 5.
