College Baseball:
Mt. SAC dropped an epic 30-6 ass kicking on Compton.
The Mounties out-hit the Tartars, 32-11, including an 11-4 advantage in extra-base hits.
Twelve Mounties had at least one base hit.
And 10 of the 12 had two hits or more.
MSAC led 15-0 before Compton scored in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Mounties scored at least one run against six pitchers.
Phillip Melgoza got lit up for 11 earned runs on 10 hits over two innings.
Melgoza walked two and fanned one Mountie.
Miguel Perez went an insane 6-for-7 with a walk, three-run HR, a two-run single, an RBI single and one triple.
Perez scored three runs, drove in six, and he was just a double away from hitting for the cycle.
Ty Thomas has a monster day at the plate.
Thomas doubled twice, hit a three-run HR, scored four runs and drove in eight.
Landon White went 4-for-6 with three doubles, four runs and three RBIs.
Bryan Bradshaw drew a pair of walks, singled twice, doubled, scored four runs and drove in one.
Tyler Stull went 3-for-4, including four walks, four runs and a pair of RBIs.
Diego Ortiz had three singles, two runs and an RBI.
Cole Nachreiner went 2-for-4 with two walks, a double, three runs and a two-run home run.
Noah Rodriguez walked, singled twice, scored four times and drove in two.
In a sportsmanlike gesture to stop the bleeding offensively, Brendan Menchaca, one of the Mounties starting pitchers’ this season came on to pinch-hit for Nachreiner in the ninth.
And Menchaca himself singled and scored in just his second at-bat all season.
Diego Villa went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
Jackson Giacone walked, singled, scored and drove in one run.
Terrell Jackson went 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Izeah Muniz got the win after going five innings and allowing five runs (two earned) on six hits.
Muniz walked three and fanned six.
Jaden Mackowiak, Ethan Corral, Jeremiah Sibrian and Dom Versluis provided one inning in relief for MSAC.
Anthony Manuel went 2-for-3 with a two-run triple and scored once.
Amaree Burnett tripled and scored.
Zaid Humphrey doubled, scored and drove in a run.
Nathan Dodero singled and scored.
Quincy Quintero walked, doubled and scored.
Ian Wilson went 2-for-2 with a walk and one RBI.
Corey Guy singled and had an RBI ground out.
Kurtis Song had an RBI single.
