Bonita spent the weekend in Las Vegas, and they split a pair of games with their hosts from Shadow Ridge High School.
On Friday, BHS cruised to an 11-2 victory.
And that next morning, the Mustangs (9-4) edged the Bearcats, 7-6.
In the two games, Skyy Hicks went a combined 6-for-9 with two doubles, four runs and three RBIs.
The Bearcats currently sit atop the Palomares League standings, and they will be tested this week.
They travel to RCHS on Monday, Glendora on Tuesday, and Ayala on Thursday.
Monday’s showdown at RCHS is a nonleague contest, while Tuesday and Thursday will be at the third and second place teams, respectively, in the Palomares League.
Hicks on Friday: 4-for-5, two doubles, three runs and three RBIs
Hicks on Saturday: 2-for-4 with a run
Hicks’ Season: tied for first in doubles (5), second in average (.452), runs (17), hits (19), third in RBIs (11) and home runs (2).
