Covina Secured Valle Vista League Sweep Over Wilson After a 9-0 Rain-Shortened Victory; Colts Outscored Wildcats, 28-2, in Two-Game Set

Covina and Wilson met up twice this week in a Valle Vista League opening series.

The two programs combined for 30 total runs.

Unfortunately for the Wildcats, 28 of the 30 runs were scored by the Colts.

After a 19-2 home victory, CHS claimed a 9-0 victory at WHS.

Christian Urbina got the loss after allowing five runs (two earned) on one hit over 1 2/3 innings.

Urbina walked one and struck out one.

Joshua Garcia was roughed up for four runs on five hits and three walks over 2 1/3 innings.

Declan Bowers went 1-for-2 with a run, a two-run double and an RBI ground out.

Ryan Silva singled twice and scored three times.

Donovan Johnson walked and scored a pair of runs.

Jacob Alvarez went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Lucas Thorpe drew a bases loaded walk, and he scored one run.

Cesar Guzman got the win after going 3 1/3 scoreless and hitless innings.

Guzman issued one walk and struck out six WHS batters.

Up next: The Colts host Alhambra (11-2-1) this morning (Saturday) at 10.
