Colin Moore & Andrew Ortiz Combine on 3-Hit 5-Inning Shutout in CV’s 12-0 Victory at Muir; Falcons Extended Win Streak to 14 Games

After edging Muir (1-0) on Tuesday, Crescenta Valley earned the two-game Pacific League sweep of the Mustangs.

The Falcons cruised to a 12-0 victory at MHS in five innings.

CV had a 10-3 advantage in base hits.

They extended their SGV-area leading win streak to 14 games.

Colin Moore went four scoreless innings to earn the win, and he scattered three hits.

Moore didn’t issue a walk and registered three strikeouts.

Of Moore’s 36 pitches, 27 were strikes.

Andrew Ortiz got the final six outs.

Ortiz didn’t surrender a hit, walked two and fanned one.

Ezekiel Rodriguez walked and singled.

Luca Cano and Conrad Hunziker IV had one single apiece to account for the rest of the Muir offense.

Miguel Castillo, who tossed a five-inning perfect game just over two weeks ago got roughed up for 12 runs (five earned) on seven hits and a walk over 1 2/3 innings.

Bryant Soriano provided 3 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, and scattering three hits.

Soriano walked one and struck out a pair of Falcons.

Brock Robeson scored and had a three-run triple.

Charlie Carafotes went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and a pair of RBIs.

Jimmy Spears singled, scored twice and drove in two runs.

Ryan Shabazian had one double, run and RBI.

Dashiell Schultz singled, scored and drove in one run.

Mike Herman walked, singled and scored.

Gunnar Herman went 1-for-3 with a walk and one run.

Chris Torres had an RBI ground out and scored.

Up next: CV will host San Pedro (6-10) tonight (Saturday) at 6.
