Baseball:
Two Maranatha pitchers combined to toss a four-hit shutout in MHS’ 3-0 victory over their visitors from Rancho Cucamonga.
Dylan Hoang went five scoreless and scattered four hits.
Hoang issued three walks and fanned a pair of Cougars.
Kaden Lai provided two perfect innings in relief, including a pair of strikeouts.
Jacob Peyton had half of RCHS’ four hits.
Brock Foulds and Jose Gomez had one single apiece.
Mason Sanchez got the loss, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks over 2 1/3 innings.
Justin Stansbury went 3 2/3 innings, and he surrendered one run on three hits.
Stansbury issued one walk and struck out a trio of MHS batters.
Lukus Perez walked and had two doubles, including one in the first inning that plated Will Suslow.
Suslow went 2-for-3 with a run.
Gabe Barragan drew a pair of walks and had an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth.
Josh Proctor doubled and scored.
Cole Richards singled and drew a bases loaded walk in the third inning.
Dylan Garcia singled for Maranatha.
After starting the season 2-6-1, MHS has won four consecutive games.
