Things looked promising for Wilson in their Valle Vista League opener.
The Wildcats scored a pair of runs in the top of the first inning at Covina.
However, the Colts answered with six in the bottom half of the inning, and they got nine more in the second.
CHS would cruise to a 19-2 victory in five innings.
Declan Bowers went three innings, allowing two runs on four hits.
Bowers walked two and fanned four WHS batters.
Diego Lopez went two hitless and scoreless innings.
Lopez issued one walk and registered four strikeouts.
Joshua Garcia went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI single.
Alex Han walked and had an RBI base hit.
Marcus Isidro and Jesus Castorena had one single apiece to account for the rest of the Wilson offense.
Robert Drieslein got roughed up for six runs (five earned) on five hits over 1/3 of an inning.
The Colts also touched up Jesus Castorena for five runs on four hits and a walk over 2/3 of an inning.
CHS had a 12-4 advantage in base hits.
Lucas Thorpe went 3-for-3 with a walk, two doubles, a pair of runs and three RBIs.
Ryan Silva walked, doubled and scored twice.
Donovan Johnson went 1-for-2 with a walk, run, double and one RBI.
Ricky Alvarez singled, scored twice and drove in three.
Jacob Alvarez singled and scored a pair of runs.
Bowers went 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs and a pair of RBIs.
